Research data events, workshops, and seminars

A couple of forthcoming national events, seminars, and webinars relating to research data management will be happening shortly. They look like really interesting events so thought I would share some of the details in case you are interested in attending.

UK Data Service Webinar
The UK Data Service is holding a webinar to showcase ReShare, their new online repository for research data. The format will be a 30-minute presentation followed by time for questions. It will take place on Wednesday 16 July 2014 between 16.00 and 17.00.

The webinar will be presented by staff from the UK Data Service Data Management Team based at the UK Data Archive, University of Essex.

Further details of the webinar content and booking details.

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine Seminar
The LSHTM is holding a seminar on the discovery of public health & epidemiology research data.

The seminar will explore three key themes:

  • Current methods applied by Public Health Research Data Forum members to make research datasets available for access by others
  • Models and systems used by the broader research sector for data discovery that are relevant to the public health community
  • Recommendations for approaches that may be applied to enhance discovery and access to public health and epidemiology research data
The seminar will be relevant to researchers working with public health and epidemiological data, data managers, curators and archivists. It will also be of interest to research funders and others engaged in efforts to promote data sharing and re-use.
Attendance is free and open to all. You do need to register in advance if you wish to attend.
